Help Figuring Wiring Connector Aux Fan?

I have a 90 IX with a non-functioning A/C. It has been retrofitted to r134a. And I started with the simple stuff of trying to check the pressure. The clutch isn't engaging on the compressor though so I cannot get an accurate read. I have a blue snow flake at the switch, and the car idle changes when I hit the button but the clutch isn't spinning.

I started to look around the wiring, and found this plug with nothing connected to it (pic taken from a google search). I also found three loose wires tucked back by the passenger light that look like they could fit in there (green, brown/black, maybe red). I think this is for the aux fan? Anyone know for sure, and what the sequence of colors to position would be? Why would the aux fan not be connected?

Would a non-functional aux fan have anything to do with the compressor clutch not engaging? I was going to take the plug off the dryer and see if I had 12v there, but wasn't sure what else to check. Electrical stuff is my weak point when it comes to cars.

    Any Help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

That connector could be for the aux fan thermo switch in the radiator, but without checking the wire colors against what is in the wiring diagrams one can't be sure.

The compressor clutch won't engage if the low pressure switch in the dryer is open. So if the system has lost too much pressure the clutch won't engage. Whther the aux fan works or not doesn't matter.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks. This leads me to my next question. If the r134a can / gauge is showing 50psi (high side of the green band on the gauge) but the clutch is not engaging how do I know if the pressure is still too low for the switch to engage? From what I'm reading the pressure value is only valid if the clutch is engaged.
