Something blocks everything when i turn on the key all the way

Hello, im totally new to this forum, but since i bough an e30 couple days ago i decided might as well register. So my problem is when i turn the key half way speedometer lights, radio, turn signals, work. (High or low beams dont work, brake lights dont work, and a lot of other stuff, but some, as i said, work) but then when i turn key one step further (right before i start the car) something blocks everything and nothing works. All i get is 5 annoying beeps thats it. Checked the relay all work fine.

Anyone has any idea on what it could be?

P.S. i tried to give us much details as possible dont know if you guys know what im talking about. It's just that i'm new to all this "fixing cars" business and i dont know how a lot of the parts called and etc.

    thanks.

Is there a security system on your car by any chance? It sounds like an override to me.

No, he means an aftermarket car alarm, like with a key fob. I'd just under the driver side kick panel and see if there is anything that doesn't look factory. The previous owner could have installed something that is disabling things.

Did it stat suddenly, or did you buy it like this?

It could also be a bad ignition switch. Does the car run and drive?

No theres no aftermarket alarm. I bought it lile this, the previous owner said it just needs new fuel pump, but oh boy it need much more then that. The car does not start. You are the second pwrson who thinks it might be an ingnition switch so i will have to check it. Thanks
