Hello all i have a quick question. My e30 yesterday for no apparent reason wouldn't start. Went to check the battery cables in the trunk and the red negative cable had snapped where it connects to the frame of the car. Went to the nearest autozone and got a basic negative cable and install wasn't an issue. When driving i noticed that she would die out the moment i would get to a stop and was struggling to stay on. She was able to get me home from where it had died, but now she dies right after the engine turns over. She has a full tank of gas and will struggle to stay on as i slow press on the acceleration pedal. Could it be that the cable doesnt work properly? any ideas?

Check how clean/dirty your throttle body is - some ECUs are really picky about its cleanliness after changing a battery. Basically, they adjust the correct idle position for the IAC over time based off of how dirty the throttle body is. After losing battery power, the memory will be erased and the ECU will assume the throttle body is clean, even if it isn't. This can cause a very low idle, or hard idle.
At least on Toyotas and GMs anyway. Not sure if this applies to old e30's, but it's worth a shot.
