    Starting problem

I need a quick diagnose to something that I cannot think of since it most likely is electrical. But I just hopped in my car today after I have already driven it so it wasn't completely cooled down. When I go to turn the key a slight click sound happens and then nothing else for 1-2 seconds and then the motor started cranking. It freaked me out so I turned the motor off, turned the key again, same thing! A click, one or two seconds and then it cranks. So I drive it around the block come back to the house, turn it off, turn the key, and it starts right up? That makes me think something is starting to go out at least. Any freaking clue?

Oh and after the second attempt there was a slight tinge of gas and exhaust from the first attempt. And I just replaced the starter and all connections are good!

I was going to say starter connection....and I still will. Even though you just replaced it I would check it again.

Hmm. They all seem fine! Maybe a relay or fuse?

The won't be a fuse or relay. The click is the starter solenoid engaging, which should power up the starter. If the primary power connections and the engine to chassis ground cable are good and the battery is charged, the starter is the problem.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
