pedal box differences airbag vs no airbag

Will a clutch pedal from the non-airbag version work on the airbag version of a pedal box? I know they are different but are the pedals located at different points. The reason I am asking is I have the pedal from the non-airbag pedal box and I put it on the airbag version but the spring will not line up correctly. If you press the pedal all the way to the floor the spring over rotates and actually pushes down on the pedal instead of pushing it up Essentially the lever arm on the pedal crosses a center line so that the spring pushes in the opposite direction. The part numbers for the springs are the same across the years according to RealOEm.com. Is there supposed to be a bump stop keeping the pedal from going to the floor? I have only tested it without the master cylindar in there. Does that stop it from over rotating? Otherwise if you press it all the way down then you have to reach down there and pull the pedal up agains the spring for the first little bit then it crosses over and pushed the pedal back up. I hope that makes sense

Thats how that spring is supposed to work. When the clutch hydrolics are hooked up the clutch presssure is greater than that spring pressure. It just acts as a helper when you press the pedal; but has a rest posistion so there's no constant force on the system.

That makes sense. I guess I have never had the clutch pushed in when the clutch was being bled... otherwise I would have noticed that the pedal would not return. Thanks for the help.
