    secondary ignition options

Hey, so I recently bought an e30 and the guy had put a secondary ignition in since it had been broken into and stuff. Initially, I had to use the key to unlock the steering wheel in the original ignition, and then use a second key to actually start the car. But then the steering wheel lock messed up and the key wouldn't stay turned to keep it unlocked. So I just taped down the lock actually and have been just using the second ignition to start the car and nothing else. But I was wondering if there was something that I could do to either go back to stock, or make it less ghetto...any ideas? I have looked a little at push-to-start but any ideas are welcome.

Why wouldn't you remove that scary 2nd ignition and repair the actual ignition lock/switch?

You can buy a COMPLETE lock set for an E30 here on R3V for about $100 usually. A used ignition switch is probably $10 at most.

So its still repairable to make it back to stock? That would definitely be my preference.
