oil light check panel..thin oil help?

ok guys i just wanted to get your oppinion to see if i have a problem or not

my check panel has been acting up since i got it but every now n then itll work and here lately it seems to working more often like when i press the check button..well as i was riding around today the oil light on the panel came on and is still on..no oil light on the cluster

when i got home i let her cool down and went to check the oil..the level is fine but the oil seems rly thin for some reason..i use royal purple full syn. 20w 50 and it isnt even close to being time to change it..the reason i say its thin is because im used to it covering the entire dipstick meaning the sides and and everything but it wasnt covering everything and looked thin but the level was fine

any input to why this may be happening would be greatly appreciated

FYI - the check panel light is for level, the cluster light is for pressure. So a bad level sensor would correspond with the check panel light.

Before you throw $ at a new level sender take it out and test the resistance. Should go from no reading to 1000 or 1kohm depending on your reader.
