    Window Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I drive an 89 325ix and my drivers side window decided to take a shit today. I swapped switches with a working window and it still does not working. whenever I press the switch in either direction I here a very faint "click" "whine". Does this rule out the window motor and leads to the regulator?

    Please HELP!

I am having the same problem and my friend going to school to be a mechanic said that it means the motor is bad. If the clicking is at the motor like mine is, then I would assume power is getting to the motor and it's just the motor that it kaput but someone can correct me if I am mistaken...

My window seals are garbage so I think my motor got wet or something.

Most Iikely a bad motor. The shaft binds up at the bottom. You might have luck taking it out, spraying it with cleaner, and working it free by hand. It's common enough that there are some diy guides online.

Pull the door panel and then try working the switch - you should be able to get a better idea of what's going on then :)

I did that earlier today. The motor would start humming and nothing moves.
