    Hood won't pop open

I need some help. My hood doesn't pop when the hood cable is pulled and the latch releases. I have to go to the front of the hood and get my fingers between the hood and grills and lift, then I can swing the back of the hood up.

Some one told me it has to do with the strut but my strut has pressure in it and holds to hood open.

    Any advise.

I do believe that the hood hinge in the front of the car has some torsion springs that initially pop the hood up.

the strut doesnt aid in the initial "pop" there should be tension on the torsion spring

WD-40 every hinge and roller that has anything to do with the hood. Mine will now pop up so violently I feel like I need to gum it back up a little.

Nothing to do with the strut. Follow these steps to alleviate this issue:

          1. Pop your hood
          2. Lift the front, but don't open the hood
          3. Look through the hood, kneeling at the front of the car. See those two hinges that are holding the hood up? Soak them up REAL good with some PB blaster or similar lubricant
          4. Push down on the hood, like you're going to close it, but don't. Stop just before it's about to latch, then pull back up. Repeat this process a few times.
          5. Lube liberally again, then repeat step four.
Optional, potentially required: fully open hood, spray the same hinges from the back.

This should solve your issue of the hood not 'popping', it did with mine. Those hinges are actually double hinges... one hinge moves the hood from the fully closed to 'popped' position, the other from the 'popped' position to fully open. The closed-->popped hinge is dry/rusted, which is why the hood springs are having trouble with 'popping' the hood.

          Hope this helps!
