    anti lock light

so my anti lock light comes on, and the abs doesnt work. i pluged an autologic scanner to it (same scanner the dealer uses) and it could not comunicate with the abs system. anyways here is the symptoms: when you start the car the abs light is off, the first time you apply the brakes to stop the abs engages and then the light comes on, after that the brakes work fine, except the abs, but the light stays on untill i shut the car off.......and then it starts all over.

anybody ever have this problem? what did they find, any help would be great thanks.

Might be a wheel speed sensor. Check those.

Did you recently jump start the car? This is typical of a blown ABS sensor fuse. It's built into the relay located on top of the ABS computer to the left of the steering column up under the dash kick panel. I've got an ABS fuse repair document I can e-mail you if you're interested.
        Let's go exploring!

91 model year doesnt have that relay. They quit doing that in 89 or so. He probably has a speed sensor or control unit problem.

Maybe not on the sedans but there's one on my '92 cabrio and an 89 cabrio I've worked on.

How do you go about trouble shooting the wheel sensors? I've got the same problem.

I had one that flickered and just needed to clean/check the connections on the fluid res.
