Looking at a 325is (common problems?)

Hey all, I'm sure you guys are the same way as m5board about searching up for things yourself and I apologize. I a going to look at a 89 325is in about 2 hours and I would like the forum's info and feedback on what to look for when inspecting the car and common problems. I would take the time to look but I am currently in class and will be driving straight there after....no time :/ please and thank you!

Look for rust around the car, but usually from around the rear end.

Ask the seller a bunch of questions, recent services, problems, any accidents etc..

That's all I can think of from the top of my head. Good luck!

Oh! And ask when he last did the timing belt, that's really important.

Check battery tray for rust, and if you buy it pull out seats and check under the carpet, a lot of times there's a surprise there for you, it's called rust:D also check fuels lines..most times they are rotted out or near that. Like illest said, find out when was the last time timing belt and water pump were done, other then that drive it, if it runs good and the price is right, I say pull the trigger

Pull the dipstick and smell for gas. But other then that check the body out well, check for rust on the rocker panels and around the taillights. Good luck
