    AC Fan Noise

So I finally got around to switching the #20 fuse. When I turn my fan on it doesn't work and when I turn it up to 4 it makes a horrible grinding noise. Does anyone know what is wrong with this?

I suspect you have two problems. The fan only working on the highest speed sounds like a bad fan resistor. The "grinding noise" sounds like a bad fan (broken impeller or trashed motor bearings).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Another possibility is the resistor pack is fine, but your motor has partially seized and will only work in the highest setting when it is provided with the most power. Start by replacing the motor and see if all speeds work afterwards. If only the highest speed works after you do, then the resistor pack is bad.

I had the same problem as you when I initially got my A/C working earlier this summer. The aux fan motor was grinding and fairly loud. The fan motor seized within a day or so of use... and since I replaced with another aux fan, all has been good.

          Good luck.
