heater motor fuse

So winter is coming, and I keep blowing the heater motor. I replace the fuse and once I turn the fan on it just blows within a second. Anyone have a idea what it could be

Did you check or recently replace your resistor or the fan switch?

Well first it wouldnt it kick on at all. So I took the resistor out and cleaned it up. And now evey time I put a new fuse in, it just blows

If the motor is seized or really stiff it will draw lots of current as it "tries" to start. Remove the cover and give the fan blades a spin. If they don't spin freely then it's likely because the bearing inside the fan is dead.

When the motor is exposed pull the resistor again. If you blow fuses with the resistor pulled then you have a problem in the wiring and probably a short to ground. If the fuse is OK with the resistor removed then the problem may be in the resistor itself but the resistor is by-passed and not used when the fan is in the highest speed.
