    Electrical Gremlin Troubleshooting

    Friends,

Grateful to be learning a lot through this community. I have a 89 325i Sedan, and it has a few electrical gremlins. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

    1) Rear Passenger Window only works with the switch on the center console. The switch on the door doesn't open/close it. I've tried changing the switch with a known good one, that didn't help.

    2) Rear DS window doesn't work at all. Where would you start with the troubleshooting on this?

    3) A couple of times, the lights went crazy. Check lights turned on, but then they started working again. A couple of times, when I would turn on the right turn signal and then brake, the flasher sped up like a bulb was out.

    4) PS Rear view mirror doesn't move. I can hear it trying to move, but it won't. DS moves fine.

New to BMWs but not to cars, but electrical stuff scares me so if y'all could school me some, that would be great!

    1. Could be bad wiring going from the switch to the motor. Make sure the switch is getting power and a good ground.

    2. Bang the shit out of the door panel whilst working the switch. Sometimes this can free up 'seized' window motors. If that doesn't work, pull the panel and see if the motor is getting power.

    3. I got nothing

    4. So the mirror is getting power and the motor works... either something's bound up -or- the gears in the motor are missing some teeth or something.
