White smoke

Lately since I changed my oil, car has white smoke coming from the exhaust. Pretty cold here at least for me :) around 45 degrees This doesn't seem normal as car never did it before. Even after is warmed up.

Don't drive it much, since it's a short walk to work but wife uses it to go back and forth on about 2-3 mile trips.

Check the oil for water; will look like chocolate milk.
Check your compression, that will tell you IF the gasket is broken and where.
Check your water levels.. If it goes don't and there's no leaks, then it's mixing with oil and burning off in the cylinders.

Also, check the spark plugs; if your gasket is blown, the plugs will have have a grip of carbon build up..will look like a rock is forming!

I can't think of anything else that would cause WHITE smoke from the tail pipe other then steam..

Are you sure that it's not condensation from your cat. burning off?

my other car blew white smoke when it had too much oil in it. yes i said white smoke. weird.

Rayz, only four quarts were used. Weird though.

Engine was just rebuilt last year and compression check was done at that time.
Water levels were fine although coolant will be channged upon my return home. Only have one weekend to do it. :(

Spark plugs checked out fine.Thought is was condensation from cat, but it does it even after the car is warm from a 45-50 min drive.

A blown headgasket will also throw out white smoke.Check the oil for coolent.
