This seems painfully obvious, but when the key is in the run position is there any power at the fuel pump? And if so, is the pump running?

Use a voltmeter at the fuel pump to make sure you have power when the ignition is on.

Check for spark. If you DO have spark, then the OBC is not the problem. The OBC cuts fuel AND DME fuctions, so no spark.

If you have no spark and no fuel at the same time, it's pretty much OBC, crank sensors, main relay, or DME.

If you do have spark, its fuel pump or fuel pump relay.

Does the car have an aftermarket alarm?

EDIT: the car is an 87, so the main fuel pump is not under the back seat, it's under the car, just ahead of the left rear wheel.

As always fast and helpful Adam.

As the car was cranking, I pulled the wire off the ignition coil and held it close to the coil, but not on. I had spark.

The ONLY thing that was done differently was the removal of the OBC harness, and the frying of that silly green plug that plugs into the OBC relay box.

I checked the fuel pump relay, even swapped it with a known good one. Still de nada. What are the odds of the fuel pump just up and dying on me with the above circumstances present?

                          No aftermarket alarm present.

Assuming there's no voltage at the fuel pump...what next?

I seriously HATE chasing down stuff like this. Why, oh why did I mess with it?

those plugs are on the passenger side, by the ecu. The box that went bad on me was the large OBC relay box, that has the 2 green plugs going into it.

Pop off one of the fuel lines and crank for a second to see if you have fuel pressure. If you have no pressure but do have voltage at the pump then you'll have to get a pump for it.
