    cold engine start

so for 2 days now my e30 has been having problems when i start it up roughly around 6:15a.m. the weather is been getting colder and thats when the problem happens. yesterday i had to press on the throttle or else it would died out on me. it makes this stutter sound and it also sounds like there is not enough air coming in. it wasnt until i let it warm up a little that i released the throttle and it was idling fine. this might be an issue with the coming cold but i dont know where to start looking. any help will be appreciated.

ETA? possibly cold start related parts. coolant temp sensor, coolant temp sender, or temperature switch at the thermostat housing.

    edit; oh, looks like m3.

check to see if your TB is clean - it can start to make a difference in the cold.

Intake leaks would be the first suspect and a smoke test will tell.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Cold start valve? I have the same problem actually. Mine only takes about 30 seconds too it's fine. Yours?

so regarding this, what would be the easiest way to check and maybe rule these out?

well the last time it did it it took about 30 sec to a minute for it to be idling normally. do you know what is wrong with your car?
