    Odometer suddenly off by 40%???

So, after I changed out my clutch, I thought I had a mpg problem, but now I realize I have an odometer issue. After comparing it for mile after mile on a long highway drive, it appears that the odometer is reading about 40% low. What could cause this? I got nothin'.....

Multiple teeth have broken off of the plastic odometer gear. Spend $25 online for a replacement or just swap out the speedo/odomoter and/or the whole cluster.

I've heard people talk about the replacement gear for the odometer. Do you happen to have the BMW part number for it? I need to get mine fixed as well.

I think VDO and Motormeter gauges are different, but bavauto has this part #E3 ODO GEAR, which gives you the option if choosing the inner/outer number of teeth. Of course you'll have to take it apart to find the number of teeth you had/have.......
