    Running Sluggish

My car has been running real lean lately, its got a new Head, spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, fuel line but still runs real heavy. It passed smog back in May but as of late its been wasting a lot more fuel than regular. I can smell the badly burnt fuel. I need to find a good mechanic with a smoke machine to run a smoke test and look for vacuum leaks. Any ideas on the symptoms provided. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

A vacuum leak would cause a lean condition, not rich. Doubt it is a leak.

Have you ever changed your O2 sensor? If it went bad, the engine will run rich. Could be the temp sensor for the ecu as well. When cold, the engine uses more fuel, then as the engine and the sensor warm up, fuel is cut back. If it is faulty, it will keep the mixture rich.

Its on my laundry list of things that need to be replaced on my car. I found one on here last night but I was 15 minutes too late and someone else bought it. I will replace that this weekend and see what it does.

Another thing that i just realized is that sometimes if it doesn't start on the first try it will drown and takes about 10 turns to start. It may be that the car is getting too much fuel and its not burning evenly.
