Just bought my first E30 yesterday and found the temperature gauge doesn't work. Any ideas where I should start? Quite frankly, I'm terrified of taking out the cluster in fear of other stuff not working after re-installing it :p
The first check would be to pull the cluster and see if there is continuity from the signal wire at the cluster to and through the sensor. If that is okay, the problem will likely be in the SI board.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
