    No Electrical

'87 325is, no mods aside from a dinan chip the p.o. put in.

It was totally fine when I parked it a week ago, and when I got to it this morning it acted like there wasn't even a battery. No trunk light, nothing. The battery's still at 3.2v (enough for a dim trunk light glow, I'd think), and a jump does nothing. The fusible link is still good.

    Thoughts on common failures, anyone?

Also, this was probably the longest it's sat since a head replacement a month or so ago.

    Thanks!

Lol 3.2v is fucking awful. You didn't mention how long you let the other car charge the battery, but at that charge level (especially your location... what's the temps, like 10 or something outside?) you're gonna have to let it charge for at least 30 mins... then it might start. Regardless though, you're probably gonna want to get a new battery.

Aside from that, make sure your terminals are tight and good.

Haha yeah, sure thing. And yeah, it is cold. I figured that with a car hooked up to jump, it would at least give me a hint of a trunk light or something? Or is that not the case?

A dead battery is such a load on the donor that unless you have very heavy jumper cables and very good connections the system voltage will remain too low until the battery has at least partially charged up. If the battery will still take a charge it may take 15-20 minutes with the donor running at 2000-2500rpm to be able to start the engine.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Haha good to see you're on r3v too, man.
