    Check Display Console

Does anyone know if the words in the overhead check display panel are supposed to light up?

yes, when you press the check button, the backlight will then stay on for a few seconds and go off

It will light up if the fluid in area with fluid is low. Or the circuit between the check panel and lights is not on the same Impedance. Aka a break in continuity, burnt out light bulb.

It was a simple design at the time and is perfect as you don't need the check light to be contsantly needing to be reset. You just manually do it.

define light up I guess. When you press check all the leds shoudl light and the backlight that lights the words should be lit orange.

If the orange part doesnt work then just pry it out with a credit card and in the middle of the back is this little bulb. twist just like a taillight bulb and it will pop out. Its a cheap part that is usually in stock at the dealer.

If the LEDs dont light and the thing is plugged in the panel might be bad. Then I bought my car the panel wasnt working so I swapped in a used one and it worked fine.
        Im now E30less.
