    Positive Battery Cable Broke

The positive battery cable terminal broke on my 89 325is.

    1. I believe it's part number 12421711315, is it discontinued or can I still buy it?
    2. Where is the other end of the battery cable terminated?

    Thanks,
    George

That part is still available, but I don't think it is the part you need. It is the cable with attached clamp and is 890mm long. The positive cable runs from the trunk to the engine bay and that is a lot more than 890mm. I'm not a fan of the clamp on repair terminals, but they will work.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks! I'm going to try to replace the terminal. Do you know what gauge wire the cable is?

I don't remember what gauge the main cable is.

It's 1/0. I bought a universal battery terminal and installed that instead of pulling the whole entire cable.
