if you are hitting it towards the passenger side then you are tightening? i dont see how hitting it toward the passenger side could loosen it?? -
then lets say from ...Originally posted by arsevaderI usually 'wack it' towards the passenger side but then again I'm right handed.

wrench from bike shop. i "rented" it for 10 bucks, no deposit. this was after i wasted 30 bucks by buying the craftsman open end being stubborn thinking it would fit. It literally took me a couple seconds to get it off by just jamming a screwdriver in to hold it. There wasnt that much pressure on the screwdriver though, it came off easily.Originally posted by HSTHow did you get it off??Leave a comment:

Sometimes it requires a little pentrating oil.. some PB Blaster er sometin'Originally posted by ColdAccord32mm and a hammer didn't do it for me
..furthermore I'm amazed at the fact that this thread is now 2 pages long. I think we're covered every possibility when it comes to removing the fan clutch.Leave a comment:

Try again, make sure you strike down and across. It may take a few good whacks, but I've never had one that I couldn't get off that way.Originally posted by ColdAccord32mm and a hammer didn't do it for meLeave a comment:

Guys! Don't be sticking screwdrivers and crap down there to try and hold the pulley. Even the BMW special tool can break the water pump pulley/bolts. I take fan clutches off everyday, and THE way to do it is just how I said, with a 32mm wrench and a hammer. Ask any of the other techs here on the board.
Damn, I feel like I've said this before.Leave a comment:
