    E30 electrical problems

So I am fighting a few electrical issues that recently came up and I have hit a road block. My car is a 87 325is. I have my drivers side high beam out and now my cluster lights won't light up. I have ellipsoid headlights installed I went thru and double check to make sure all of the connections are good, toke the radio out and have it an independent ground. I have checked all dash bulbs, checked fuses, checked the relays. I replaced the SI board batteries and I am unsure if since I did them as a remote setup if that is the problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If the other dash lights are also out, the dimmer in the headlight switch is a prime suspect. If the high beam indicator on the dash is on, fuse 1 is good. It supplies power to the indicator and LH high beam. That would mean that there is problem in the LH high beam wiring.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

It is just the cluster lights that are out, the high beam dash light works, all of the other indicator lights on the dash work it is just the back light for mph, tach, gas, and water temp that doesn't work. I just rewired the drivers side high beam yesterday and it didn't make a difference

Try a new dimmer switch. Check that the contacts aren't hazed over. Otherwise check your items are grounding proper. One bad ground can cause a lot of odd Guage problems. My front left bumper blinker had a bad bulb contact causing my right headlight to cut out and my Guage indicator bulbs to stay dim lit. Fixed the bulb contact and all was well!
