    Alternator bearing sizes

The 90A alternator on my b25 is making all sorts of weird howling and groaning sounds that come and go. My suspect is that the bearings are going bad. Instead of dropping $200 for a reman Bosch alternator I figured I'd replace the bearings and put one of these upgraded voltage regulators in for a fraction of the cost.

    I ordered #5 and #2 but #5 is NLA.

After #2 came I pulled it out and looked at it (It's an SKF bearing, part# 6003-2RSH/C3GJN). In ETK, #2 has a supplement 47x17x14. But the actual bearing is 35x17x10 (OD x ID x W). This is a genuine BMW part I bought at the dealer so either ETK is wrong, or somehow bearings got swapped in the box.

So now I'm not fully sure if the bearing I have will fit and I also have no confidence in ordering a generic 32X12X10 (#5 dimensions from ETK) bearing.

Anyone have an alternator apart that could take some bearing measurements to confirm?

Take the alternator apart and look for numbers on the bearing. A bearing supply house should be able to get them or cross them to a more available part. Or measure the dimensions of the bearing and order from those.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

That's what I'm trying to do except I only have one car and I only want to pull/disassemble the alternator once hence trying to bum bearing measurements.
