    oil pan baffle repair?

I'm looking for some input on how to repair the baffle inside of the oil pan (m20)

at one time it appears that the oil pan was killed and a patch welded. this is fine with me, since it doesnt leak and appears to be a good repair. actually, it seems to reinforce the pan better than origionally.

the problem is, when this happened, it must have snapped the 2 tabs that hold one side of the L shaped baffle on. the rivit that holds the other side is fine and holds the baffe down, but it bounces around a bit. makes me nervous.

I can't seem to find just the baffle available, so I need to fix it. rivits will not work, so bonding it was my next best idea. I'm just worried it won't hold, which is probably not even a big deal, but if it sets loose completely it could block the oil pump sump or hit some rods. Is there a bonging agent you would trust on aluminum soaked in oil?

For the trouble you will have to go through to remove the pan I would try to snag another one cheap at a local salvage yard and replace it with that.

that's an option, they are fairly priced at my yard, but then I have to pull it off. mine is off and clean right now during the freshen.

            Weld it or swap pans.
