    Turn Signal Help

I'm having problems with my turn signals. About six months ago they were working intermittently. I'd have to try the lever a couple of times before they'd work every now and then.

In late November I replaced the relay in the column. There was no improvement.

As of last week they quit working completely. I'm not really sure where to go from here. Everything I've found in my online searches points me in the direction of the steering column relay. Hopefully R3v can shed some light on this.

The switch/lever it self is probably bad. Having to turn it on and off a few times is the tell tale sign.

I should have mentioned that I replaced the lever with a brand new unit from Pelican about a year ago. It is possible that it is dead, just not likely.

Regardless, thanks a lot for responding!

I am assuming from your description that all of the turn signals are affected (left/right/front/rear) Is fuse #4 ok? Check with a test light or volt meter and make sure you have 12v on both sides of it with the key on.

Next, pop the hazard light switch out and check for 12v at pin 1 (terminal R) of the connector. Should be VI/GY wire.

Also, do all four lights flash when you push in the hazard light switch?

Speaking of fuses, it's important to mention that even if a fuse isn't blown, it could affect a circuit adversely if it's old. Might be worth swapping it with a new one to see if anything changes.

most likely a bad hazard switch , turn signals run thru the hazard switch ,try cycling the hazard switch a few times and see if turns start working or one side works or if symptoms change at all its a good bet it the hazard switch causing problem

The Hazards do not work. Nothing flashes - not the button itself, nothing on the dash. Nothing flashes on the dash when you use the turn signal stalk either. I haven't been able to pull the Hazard switch to confirm, but they are cheap enough so I'll pick one up anyway to test it out.

Thanks for saving my neck, R3v!
