    E30 325e where to start

Hey all, long time lurker first time poster.
Basically, I've just purchased a 2door manual 325e for $500, which is dirt cheap here in aus considering I've seen some which have done the same Ks go for min of 10k. It's done 300000Ks but hasn't been used in 3 years buts been kept in a garage the whole time. No rust at all, slight dint of the passenger side fender and a cracked dash. The seats and everything else is in an amazing condition considering it's age.
So what I'm asking is where should I start. I really have no idea where to begin to be completely honest and was wondering the opinion of you guys. People like Fear and Ak and some lz guy kind of inspired me to start this project. I'm in it for the long haul and want to make something I'll enjoy. So any ideas are welcome.
    Cheers!

Will tomorrow when I pick it up.
Yeah I kind figured all that but thank you for confirming. I'm a bit curious about the brakes? I can't imagine them to be in any decent condition sitting for 3 years. Basically I have to get it about 3km from my mates house to mine and if I can avoid towing it that'd be great.

My cabrio had been sitting 4 years, it would barely roll onto the trailer. I was afraid to drive it the 5 or 10 miles to get it home. The brakes were fine after I got it running.

Ahh true. I took some photos this arvo. I'm just gonna get a car trailer I don't want to risk it since I live in such a hilly area. Cheers for the advice though.
Wish there was a bigger e30 scene over here :(

Beside the regular PM stuffs (timing belt, water pump, fuel filter/pump, belts, brakes, valve adjustment, etc...) I would do a smoke test to find all the vacuum leaks then replace all the rubber fuel hoses.

Brakes don't get hot from sitting for a long time...

You should do a full brake and clutch fluid flush and change, though. Check the condition of all six (four corners plus two above the rear subframe) rubber brake hoses as well. You don't need to do it, but a suspension refresh/minor upgrade would definitely increase your overall enjoyment.
