    Headlight problem

I have a 1984 318i, and have a strange problem with my front right headlight. When my daytime lights are on, the right one does not want to "illuminate" however, when I turn on my highbeams all four lights turn on, including the right daytime light that does not work unless the highbeams are engaged.

If anybody knows what the problem is, or how to fix it, i would greatly appreciate it. thanks

By "daytime", do you mean low beams? If so, get a new bulb for that light. Or replace the whole light if it's sealed beam.

The low beam bulbs have two different circuits on the early model cars. The low beam only circuit(filament) usually burns out way before the high beam one. And in this case I'm referring to the high beam circuit(filament) within the low beam housing. Confused yet? :)

I had the same problem, however on the driver's side. My low beam light wouldn't work unless the high beams were on. Turns out, I needed a new sealed beam for the one that didn't work, cause the filament had burned out or something. But anyways, just hit up your local shop and ask if they've got a sealed beam laying around ( i got mine for $10), and swap it for the busted one. Should work just fine.

Brand new to R3V. Sorry bout any n00b things that might happen. I drive a schwarz black 1987 BMW 325, stock m20, on borbet type H's, bout to lower it tomorrow, all that good shit. But just today, my passenger side lights, both high and low beams, go completely off when I turn on the high beams. Yet the driver's side high and low beams work just fine. Any help?

Well I haven't seen your problem specifically but relays and fuses are always the first place to start

I did a full H1/H4 swap. Easy plug and play install, huge upgrade in light output, plus it looks pretty sweet too.
