    auto sunroof stuck closed.

i tried searching/google cant find anything helpful.
the motor turns and turns but nothing moves or opens. no tilt no slide.
i tried to use the allen head tool to manually open still nothing turns.
i can push on the rear to pop the rear up but thats about it.
how do i go about opening it to see what needs to be fixed?
i can access in total 4 torx screws in the rear when i push the rear up with my hand. but cant get the front torx screws cause the liners in the way.
    any help appreciated .

It sounds like either the cable broke or it's stripped in the motor and the motor isn't biting anymore. Are you able to slide and/or wedge the panel at all by hand?

im trying very hard to slide it by hand. i get it to move just ajar but not big enough for my fingers.
ill try from the inside and have some one push the back down from the top.
im hoping its just the cables. but have to get it open first.

to remove the liner there are clips at the front edge that snap into the sunroof panel. Simply pull down the front panel to pop the clips and slide back into the roof. Then you can access all the torx screws and remove the sunroof and see whats busted.

Ah that's where I'm having some trouble. I can't get my fingers in there to pull it down. It won't slide back where I can grip the liner and pull down.

yea thats a problem. If its really stuck might just have to muscle to sunroof to slide back. Or go through the liner to get to the torx bolts. Then hit up the yard for a replacement liner.

I had this same issue. Turns out that when the previous owner had it painted by Maaco, their superior prep work left a bolt hidden along the rails that I couldn't see without using a mirror. Once I fished it out with a pick and a pair of needle noses the sunroof slid just fine.

The best part about her repainting it? It used to be Bronzit.
