e36 to e30 oxygen sensor screwjob

Hey guys, hoping you can help me fix my mistake here.
I went to replace my oxygen sensor with an OEM bosche one about a month ago and realize that the rubber boot on the connector, on the harness side, had been torn apart by a PO and left the wires and pins exposed to the elements. Everything was corroded and rusted and the connector was basically shot. So I went to the Wreckers looking for another one, but unfortunately E30's aren't very plentiful around here and they didn't have what I needed. But what they did have was an OBD1 E36, which uses the same 4 pin oxygen sensor/connector as E30's, but with different wiring colours.
Last night I got around to getting it all hooked up. Aaaannd I screwed it up. Basically the OBC says that my mpg's go up as I'm idling and down as I'm driving, and it is running a bit rich

Here are the wires I connected:
    (e30 loom>e36 connector)

    green/blue>green

    brown>black

    black>yellow

    brown (shielded)>brown

Here's some info I found on some other threads/forums:

For an E30, signal Black, Heater Ground Brown shielded on harness side (white on sensor side), +12V heater power Green/W harness side (White sensor side), Signal Ground brown harness side (Grey sensor side).
    For an E36,

Pin 1 (black) - DME (pin 71 - voltage signal)
    Pin 2 (yellow) - DME (pin 70 - ground)
Pin 3 (brown) - Ground (shielded)
Pin 4 (green) - O2 sensor relay (power)

So, does anybody know which wires I need to connect? Anybody done this before or any swap wizards know what's what on both e30 and e36 harnesses?

    Cheers

Well, from the info you posted, it should be:

    E30 - E36

    Black - Black
    Brown - Yellow
    Green/Blue - Green
    Shielded Brown - Shielded Brown

You have the e30 brown and black wires mixed up.
