bad cps cause no 'key on' fuel pump priming?

No right? It cuts spark and injector pulse correct? But I should have rail pressure even with a bad crank sensor am I correct?

How about park safety switch? It is an auto-will this cut everything?

Dme will only prime fuel when it sees timing data. Bad cps can cause a no fuel/no spark condition. But you need to crank to check for fuel pressure not just cycle the key.

On an auto bad nss will cause a no crank condition, but not a no start.

You should further investigate before buying a cps. Also if you do, don't get an aftermarket one. Dealer only.

Have you checked to ensure spark? Fuel pressure?

          oh yeah.

          -no fuel
          -no spark
          -will just crank

And,I have another, running 325. So i can just swap that sensor on.

Might also want to check the dme relay on the driver side inner fender

Well I have no power at the coil at all. That isn't cps related. :(

                  What year/version e30?

Could be the security "feature" of the OBC relay box. If it fails it will cut fuel and spark. You can jumper the two green wires together where they go into the box to bypass it.

There aren't very many failure points that will cut both fuel and spark. You checked the fuel pressure or volume and you have none?

Check for power at the dme. I don't know the pin out but there's switched power and battery power. Could be blown fuse on the power coming from the battery, there's an inline fuse to the dme few inches from. The battery on the smaller cable

I will check. But I know that fuse is good. Checked that yesterday.
