loss of power steering at high rpm!

During autocross while in higher rpms and trying to turn the steering gets stiff and jerky. Daily driving it acts perfectly normal. Pump going out slowly? Belt slipping? Any ideas?

The belt would be the first thing to check.

It has a pretty new belt on it but ill have to double check the tightness.
