To be completely frank; some late models came with alarm horns, but I have yet to come across any e30 that had an alarm system installed factory (Different from dealer install!)

The only thing I have found on factory on e30s would be the 13-button OBC code feature that acts as a theft repellent. If cranked over 3 times with the wrong code entered, it will shut off the fuel pump relay and honk the car horns for 3 minutes

Yes absolutely. My 1991 had a factory BMW alarm.

There were BMW alarms, they were installed at the dealer but most went with Hofco alarms in those years.

BMW branded, dealer installed alarms were incredibly expensive, so most went aftermarket.

My clicker-thing-a-ma-jig said BMW right on it. It's long gone now though.

My car has a remote with power locks and an alarm. Its a BMW key thing. But I always assumed it was an aftermarket clone.

Yes, it was a BMW alarm, made by Alpine, installed at the dealer. They were around $1200 IIRC. At that time, I was a VSE dealer, I installed Derringer alarms for $325 or so with more features.
