    Exhaust Manifold Studs

I am putting in new exhaust manifold studs using the "double nut" method. How far should the go in? I checked the depth of the head and am not sure if I should tighten them until they bottom out.

    Thanks in advance.

Dont need to be bottomed out. Did you see how far the old ones were sticking out?

What he said, also it is a good idea to use some red locktight. That way next time you take the manifold off the studs will stay in the block.

Thanks guys. I used red lock tight. Everything went smooth.

        Much appreciated.
