    Fuel Pump Noise.

I have a 89 325i and the fuel pump in it is maybe 4 months old. and it is whining like crazy! you think it maybe a defective?

Well I doubt it's defective, I think thisis a pretty commonthing with replacement and even some oem fps. Mine's the loudest I've ever heard, but it works fine. My advice is "let sleeping dogs lie". Or maybe "if it ain't broke don't fix it". In short wait till it goes out (or starts giving trouble) before replacing it.

Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupid.

You should be fine. Some days mine is real quiet and ill never notice it on. Once in a while a freight train couldnt mask the sound of the whuuur coming from my car. I have heard the purge valve is supposed to help with the surging sounds, do you know if you have that hooked up? Looks kinda like your FPR and is supposed to be right near the pump.

I can hear mine when everything is quiet as well. Don't you hate it when you hear it and can't ignore it, lol.
