How do you disconnect the ebrake cables?

well, I am trying to swap out a bent trailing arm but I cant figure out how to disconnect the e-brake cable!

I know it is bound to be something obviously easy but please help me out anyway.

    Thanks!

    hey man!

do you mean, disconnect he cable from the rear hub, or disconnect the cable and shroud from under the body?

Remove the rear rotor, underneith is the parking brake assembly, remove the pads, and remove that little pin that connects the cable to the brake itself.

the cable should then pull out the back of the arm.

Thanks James. I was trying to figure out a way to do it without removing the shoes. I always seem to send springs flying all over the garage whenever I have to work on drum brakes. I'll just have to be more careful.

I got it out with the shoes in, but my hand hurt afterwards... so, it is possible, just not practical :)

awwww...i wish i had found this thread this morning...

I was at a U-pull-IT type junkyard and i was after an e0brake cable...i didnt have the allen style wrenches 'cuase i've never used them on a car before.

So after i remove the caliper i had no way to remove the rotor lol...i looked around and found a camshaft and started beating the **** out of the rotor with it untill eventually the rusted rotor broke in half and i was able to remove it...the're still pieces of the rotor stuck to the hub jaja. Anyways, thanks for posting 'cause now i know how to do the job right on my car.

fyi* as camshafts are big heavy and thick pieces of metal, the one i used was about 1.5" in diameter and it broke in half when hammering the rotor...had to use the longer "half" to continue the job.
              No more e30s for me.
