    Faltering idle/rpm

When I hold a steady speed sometimes for no reason at all my rpms will drop 3-400. Then when braking and sitting at a light the car will drop rpms to 1-150. It has only actually died twice. There is no pattern. Sometimes it happens when the car is cold sometimes when it's hot sometimes not at all. Any ideas?

Is your air conditioner compressor and/or electric aux fan turning on and off? Both can put a drag on the engine.

Idle control valve would be my other guess but other guys will want to chime in on that.

What does your tach do when the rpm drops? Check your alternator and battery too.

I was thinking a dying fuel pump. Ice is good. Just replaced.
