car starts but does not have power

cant even get it 1k on tach, black smoke coming out..please someone help just bought car...

Your running real rich. With the info you have given, it's to difficult to tell you what's wrong. You will have to do some checking on your own to narrow it down. If it has been sitting a long time, you may want to check your air box and hose for mouse nest.

sounds like a few cyls aren't firing correctly.

at minimum check the firing order and replace(or at least inspect) the spark plugs

changed out plugs and now has power, plugs where black but still blowing black smoke..but not full power but better

The way overly rich A/F ratio is fouling out your plugs. What color was EACH plug ? That will help to determine if its a complete fuel system malfunction or an one injector or two sticking open.

put new plugs in and changed the coolant temp sensor and changed afm, runs like a champ now..thanks for help
