stripped the bolt that holds the crank sensor

I was trying to change the crank sensor and my feet slipped on the gravel when i was tightening it and leaning over the fender and i ended up stripping the threads on the bracket that the crank sensor 5mm bolt bolts to. Anyone have an idea on what i can do to repair it? does that bracket come off the motor easily? i couldn't get in to see if it does or not. thank you in advance for any input! first post so i haven't filled out anything but the car is an 87' 325is with the M20B25.

Two bolts hold the bracket to the engine block. Remove the sensor and you can easily get the bracket off.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
