    those with sparco bar

Did anybody else drill the 3rd holes in the strut tower? I drilled them when I was doing the front suspension but it was too late and too difficult to tighten there by the time I got around to bolting that bar back on, and I had a worry that when the suspension got fully compressed it could hit that bolt head.

Buuuut... I'll have my car jacked up this weekend and in the interests of completion I might try to tighten a bolt on there. How did anybody else do it?

When I had mine on my cabrio I did not drill the extra holes.

I have yet to install it on my 4 door. But when/if I do, I'll probably drill the holes. I shouldn't have any issue with rubbing as the GC springs are a smaller overall diameter than stock or "normal' lowering springs.

I installed a sparco bar on my car this weekend when I did my coilovers. I drilled the 3rd hole and have no problems with it hitting anything, I do have the bolt coming threw from inside the fender well into the engine bay to help cut down on any potential problems.

Why would a bolt head in the wheel well cause any troubles? Do what rs4pro3 did, and make the nut on the inside of the engine compartment.

I think he was worried the springs may hit the bolt, but the bolt is so high up anyways I highly doubt you'd ever come close to hitting it.

I think it should be fine. I'm going to drill and install the 3rd bolt on my sparco bar. The hole there is 8mm right?

Good to know. I wasn't really worried it would hit, it was a minor concern, but mostly the fact it was nearly 2am on Sunday night and really really hard to work with a wrench way up in the strut tower while the suspension is in there. I'll give it another try.

Maybe I'll get a bunch of guys this summer and we'll force the bitch on? heheh

I drilled the 3rd hole on my IE bar - no problems. The nut is on the inside, bolt head on the outside and clears the struts just fine.

                            Didn't have to drill anything

I installed mine on my '86 325e and did not have to drill anything. Fit perfectly. I did have to move my fusebox a little to clear, but that was it.

                            strange.
