    Tach only not working.

Hello all, new poster, old lurker.
    Recently bought my new (old) car. 1989 325i; M20 5 speed; 4-door
Car is in nice condition and i've loved E30s forever.

It needed a rocker arm, so i fixed that along with a few other things (TB, WP, HG, etc) upon getting it running, the tach is not working. Drove the car today, it drives fine, speedo, temp, fuel, and econometer work fine, however the tach has no response at all. Any help?
I enjoy making cars look broken, but drive like new. Just scraping.

I'd say start by tearing the cluster apart and testing the SI batteries and fixing any cold solder joints.

It's 6 screws to take the dash apart and you don't have to take the steering wheel off. Trust me, I did this about 10 times in the last three weeks while replacing stereo, switches, fixing odo gears, fixing temp and fuel gauge. Word of advice, wear gloves or something. The dash parts are kinda sharp in some places and the tape that wraps the wiring harness is all gummy and gross to touch.
