    M42 upper oil pan Q?

I need to replace both upper and lower if I'm trying to replace the upper?

    Permatex what color to use?

    Anything else I should know?

Yup, you have to remove the lower to get to a few bolts for the upper

    Perma who??

Torque is 96in/lbs and helicoil kits are easy to find at NAPA [M6x1.00]

Gasket sealer- which one to use?

Damn I had a feeling I needed to order both the upper and lower gasket to do the upper, oh well guess I'll do it next weekend.

Use any High Temp RTV. You get what you pay for, and acually the best crap around is made by Motorcraft [Ford] Comes in a big tube that fits into a caulking gun and is light grey in color.

permatex is available at some hardware stores

helicoils ? Are they necessary? (or just likely needed ?)
