whine, please pass the cheese ...

    yeap, whine whine whine.

    here's a vid of it... http://www.freakyfranky.net/bmwstuff/whine.AVI

it's on the spare 325iC, it had it then and it has it now, she sat for about 8 months.

    - today did Continental t.belt, tensioner, spring and WP.
    - ran it with and without a/c, wp/alt, p/s.
    - also ran it with and without lower t.belt cover as it had some old traces of rubbing.
    - also checked distributor and rotor, no binding there.

whine still there and not sure why, sounds like from forward side of engine.

heard about injectors or fuel pump whine, could that be it ?

Fuel pump whine would be fron the back of the car. Never heard of injectors making noise like that.

Damn, thats a harsh sound. Maybe you got a bad t belt bearing/pulley.
Take it back apart and listen to the bearing, and check for rubbing somewhere.
Is there oil in the motor? lol

          Hey mangs,
Thanks for all the great advise.

Today de-tentioned T.Belt but it was not the problem

So, used a piece of vacum hose and found a leak between thermostat housing and head, that little gasket it's cracked in 3 pieces
(see enclosed pic), repaired it with some gasket glue and wistle went away for a little while,
so picked a replacement and will install it tomorrow., that should fix it.

If not it, then injector # 1 "O Ring" it's all dryed up.

just for reference, this is how much over sized the gaskets are...

              offending # 1 outlet (#1)
