There should be (I believe) a 10mm head on top of the shock past the stud that the nut screws onto. At least I think so.....

There is actually a special socket tool for this but I have never seen it for sell. I like to take can opener pad, you know the magic rubber gripper things, and wrap it around the shock. Then use vicecrips or channelocks to hold the strut. This keeps a good grip on the shock and keeps from marring it up.

yea it worked out after. Managed to get everything off except the strut. Its pretty much welded into the strut housing. Me and my buddy used two plumber's wrench's and it would not budge. Then we heated up the strut tube and tried again, only to slightly bend the collar of the strut. Any idea how much it would be to replace the strut tube assembly? Both sides will not budge, we tried for atleast an hour with no luck.
Thanks for all the help guys, haynes manual does not cover it well at all.
