Ac question

My cars ac doesn't work. I did an evac and recharge to it, but still no go. The ac button is working and i am getting power to the switch on the drier but nothing coming out of it. I got a new switch in and still nothing. If i put power directly to the compressor it works. Could it be that the drier is so clogged up that the pressure switch does not flip? Any other ideas?
