    Full coolant hose replacement

I’ve got a new thermostat (with O-ring and gasket for housing), bmw coolant, and coolant/water hoses (10 in total) for M42 w/ AC.

    Bentley doesn’t cover M42..

So far, I intend to use guidance from here to drain coolant. Then proceed to replace each hose one at a time, replace thermostat, refill coolant, and finish by bleeding system.

Suspect that some hoses are straight-forward to replace and others are more difficult..

Could anyone provide an outline on what is in store for me? (tricky hoses, problem areas, “while I’m at it” items, etc.) Does intake manifold need to come off ? (new gaskets?)

    Input greatly appreciated.

You should buy the plastic pipe and o ring that are below the intake manifold as well. Re-clamping a new hose onto that old plastic can cause it to crack and leak.
