    heater valve

If i take out the heater valve and hook the coolant hoses directly from the engine to the heater core,, will i have heat no matter what? or can i still adjust the temp?

Heat will always be on; at least somewhat. The blend flap inside may block it, but its not perfect.

Just curious...Why would you want to keep a constant flow of coolant into the heatercore?

I'm guessing you're having issues with your heater-valve. If this is the case. My suggestion is to just bypass the heatervalve/core all together. You can do this easily by using a U shaped hose with connectors and clamps under the hood. That way, with summer coming up you're not getting a blast of heat inside the car.

I had my heater valve split in half around the top half of the unit about 2 weeks ago. I used the method mentioned above to keep the coolant flow under the hood until I could get the new heater valve. Heres some pics of the setup I used:

Wait a second SOURCE, the heater valve is THERE??

I thought i removed the heater valve, but i guess i removed something else..

Is the heater valve ALWAYS hooked up directly to the heater core like that insidet he firewall?? bc if it is then i'm good, bc i did not remove THAT....

If that's the case then, how does the heater valve turn on/off? is it when i turn the knob all the way to "hot", it lets coolant through, and turn the knob to "cold", then it shuts it off?

Thanx alot for your help guys.

Yeah it's always there. It's an electronic valve. You are correct that is how it works. It also varies the amount of cool air getting into the car with flaps.
