    M54 crank spacer help

    I ordered and received my crank spacer and am wanting to install it but i need to take out the little pins on the snout of the crank. Anyone got any experience removing these bastards?
    Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

    Yes.. just use a flathead screw driver and pop under the "key way things" with a hammer. Theyre half moons in a sense. Heres a pic. hope it helps.




    should be same on ur m54 as my m52



    they can be reused as well if you dont munge em up too bad.

      im trying that i guess i didnt hit the flat head hard enough. That thing is just a pain in the ass.

        FYI, these are called Woodruff keys.

            yes the keys correspond with the groove on the dampener and crankshaft timing cog. It keeps everything lined up If you f those up you can buy those at most part stores or machine shops. Sold by grove width
